Traditional Thai Massage: Nuad Thai Explained

Fully clothed, deeply energising, and thousands of years old.

Ghogi Spa ·

Thai massage — Nuad Thai — is unlike any other treatment on the menu. There are no oils. You stay fully clothed. And you may leave feeling like you've had the best yoga class of your life.

Therapists work along the body's Sen energy lines using hands, thumbs, elbows, forearms and feet, combining acupressure with assisted stretching.

It's the treatment to choose when your flexibility feels stuck, your energy feels blocked, or you simply want something completely different from your usual spa afternoon.

How a Thai massage session feels different

Traditional Thai Massage combines pressure and assisted stretching rather than relying on flowing oil-based strokes. It is typically experienced fully clothed, so comfort and ease of movement are important.

The therapist guides the movements; you do not need to be flexible or experienced in yoga. Let them know if a stretch feels too strong or if a position is not comfortable.

Flexibility without forcing movement

The assisted movements can make Thai massage appealing to guests who enjoy stretching. Every body has a different range of motion, and a treatment should respect that rather than push towards a particular pose.

If you have a joint problem, injury or recent surgery, check suitability with a healthcare professional and communicate with the spa before booking. Choose an alternative treatment if assisted stretching does not suit you.

Plan your Thai massage at Ghogi Spa

Traditional Thai Massage is available for 60 minutes at ₹2,500 or 90 minutes at ₹3,500. Enquire at Whitefield or HSR Layout and let the team know that you prefer a fully clothed therapy.

Choose a session that leaves you comfortable time to arrive and unwind. A good spa visit is a deliberate pause, not another task to rush through.

Before your appointment

Tell the spa team about your preferred pressure, any allergies and any areas you would like the therapist to avoid. Mention pregnancy, recent surgery, injuries or ongoing health conditions before booking; seek medical advice if you are unsure whether massage is suitable.

Plan a little breathing room around your visit rather than rushing straight into another commitment. During the treatment, let your therapist know if the pressure, temperature or position feels uncomfortable. A relaxing experience should reflect your comfort, not your tolerance for discomfort.
